Praise from Event Organizers for Carolyn Kleinman’s PowerPoint Presentation based upon her novel Love, Faith, and the Dented Bullet
“Masonic Village at Elizabethtown was honored to have author Carolyn Kleinman speak to our residents about her writing, research and publishing methods. A natural speaker, Mrs. Kleinman connected to the audience and kept them engaged throughout her presentation. Everyone was excited to have her personalize their copies of “Love, Faith and the Dented Bullet.” We cannot wait until her next book is released!” – Bianca Hemsch (Recreation Coordinator, Masonic Village at Elizabethtown)
Carolyn presented to our synagogue. She is a terrific speaker who kept us intrigued. Carolyn told us some details of her book, but emphasized the research she accomplished to write the book. I admire her thoroughness. It is clear that she wanted to be accurate with her details in her historic novel. This was an extremely worthwhile program. Kudos to Carolyn Kleinman. – Anita Slade (East Northport Jewish Center, East Northport, NY)
Thank you so much for your presentation to the MT Library book group yesterday. It enhanced our appreciation of the book and of your diligent research. The story seemed so real that I had to remind myself that it was fiction. It was fun to read the references to local places with which we are familiar. Good luck with the publication of your new book. We will be looking for it!
All the best,
Bonnie Shaffer (Manheim Township Library, Lancaster, PA)
On February 7, 2022, Carolyn Kleinman was the guest speaker an Adult Jewish Growth session at Congregation Shaarai Shomayim in Lancaster, PA. She spoke about her novel Love, Faith, and the Dented Bullet via Zoom and had an excellent PowerPoint to accompany her talk. Everyone was impressed with how well-researched her writing process is as well as with how surprisingly she blended romance with a Holocaust theme. – Carol Woodman (Women of Shaarai Shomayim Team Leader)
Carolyn’s power point presentation was a wonderful accompaniment to her book, Love, Faith and the Dented Bullet. Members of our book club were able to understand her motivations, her writing process and even meet some of her ancestors, all of which helped to provide a better understanding of the book. I wish more authors were able to give similar presentations when addressing their reading audiences. – Robyn Laufer (Sisterhood Book Club Coordinator at Temple Beth Torah Sha’aray Tzedek in Tamarac, FL)
We had Carolyn Kleinman speaking to our group the other evening – a real treat! Not only did she tell us about the story (without revealing the ending!) but she told us about all the research that went into the book. This book was inspired by true events, and the author did exhaustive research to substantiate the events. The strong relationship between a Mennonite woman and a Jewish man is conveyed successfully. You would think that a survivor of the Treblinka extermination camp would have little in common with a sheltered young woman in Lancaster, Pennsylvania – but that is exactly the situation facing Carolyn Kleinman. She handles this unusual relationship well! – Jane Gabin (Lifelong Learning Committee Coordinator at Beth El Synagogue in Durham, NC)
Thank you so much, Carolyn, for an excellent presentation tonight. You did a wonderful, clearly well-prepared job, and I loved how you read from your book and gave us fascinating background and insight. If we learn of an organization that does the appropriate type of presentations, I will certainly recommend you as a speaker. It was a pleasure working with you; you made the whole process smooth and easy. – Betsy Solomon (Coordinator for Scholar in Residence speakers at Congregation Agudas Israel in Newburgh, NY)
Carolyn Kleinman is an engaging speaker. She spoke at the Chapter Two Book Club in July, and we learned about both the background for her book, Love, Faith and the Dented Bullet, and about her writing process. After reading Love, Faith and the Dented Bullet, the members were interested in learning more about her research process and the historical background of the book. This was the first half of Carolyn’s presentation. She went on to explain her writing process in character development and voice. Equally fascinating was the information about getting a book published. The time with Carolyn Kleinman flew by. We have agreed that it was a most captivating morning.
